1. Why I might be interested in this Competition?
Do you have the ambition to lead the digital transformation ? Do you have a first MVP and some first market feedback in one of these three sectors : Health, Fintech, Sustainable Cities ? Are you willing to benefit from Top French companies and partners experience ? If you are all of that and willing to take part in this exciting competition, then this competition is for you!
2. Who can apply?
We encourage holders of legally established startup (minimum of 51% of equity owned by an Egyptian national) at an early growth stage in one of the three categories (Health, Fintech, Sustainable Cities) to submit an application. Product/services ideas submitted must be at a minimum stage of a working MVP-Minimum Viable Product features and proof of market feedback and customer desirability. Employees of French companies sponsoring the competition or their first-degree relatives are not allowed to participate.
You must be Tech enthusiastic with the ambition to take part in the digital transformation of one of the three sectors of the competition : Health, Fintech, Sustainable Cities.
3. Can I apply alone?
We are not quite sure that you could have reached this stage all alone ! We encourage team to participate.
4. What exactly are you looking for in terms of product/service?
Three categories are opened for this competition under the umbrella of digital : Health, Fintech, Sustainable Cities.
For Health, we have in mind the following sub-categories : Healthcare / Nutrition / Health surveillance / Health education & Awareness / Prevention / Knowledge & Research / Healthcare Data Analytics & Big Data / Electronic healthcare records / Telemedicine / Medical Insurance. We are looking at a cost-efficient and secure use of technologies with healthcare and healthcare related fields for the benefit of end users.

For Fintech, we would be more interested in the following sub-categories : Fintech / InsurTech / lending / identity authentication / financial inclusion / budgeting & investment tools / customer experience / operational excellence. We are looking at a digital innovation that securely facilitates all financial services and products to everybody, anytime and anywhere.

For Sustainable Cities, we aim to discover new solutions in the following sub-categories: Renewable Energy / New Mobility (Automated Driving, Sharing Business Models, V2X & Digitalization, Last Mile Delivery Solutions & Business Models and Electrification) / Waste Management / Energy Efficiency / Smart Homes. Sustainable Cities, sometimes known as ecological or ‘eco’ cities are settlements designed to have as little impact on the environment as possible (reducing the inputs of energy, water and food; and reducing the outputs of heat, water and air pollution).

5. What are the judging criteria for the competition?
We will pay a particular attention to the following criteria during the assessment process: Boldness and Novelty of idea, Technical Feasibility of the solution, Customer Desirability, Business Viability. In addition, a particular attention will be given to candidates profile match with our eligibility criteria (see question 2).

6. What is the deadline to apply?
We will stop accepting submissions on January 31st, 2020 at 11:59 PM. Any startupper having submitted an application can modify it anytime before the deadline. After that, we will not accept any modification.

7. Does my submission guarantee my participation to the Bootcamp?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept all candidates to the Bootcamp. After the deadline, our experts will evaluate all applications received (online filtering) and interviews will be conducted with some of the applicants (through physical presentation) before they are invited to attend the Bootcamp and continue the competition. We would need approximately one month to assess all candidates, conduct interviews and confirm your participation to the next stage.

8. Who judges the teams?
The jury will consist of various experts from our Sponsors and partners as well as external parties.

9. Is the Competition free of charge?
Yes! This competition is completely free of any charge. However, attendance to events based in Cairo (Bootcamp and Final Pitch & Award Ceremony) will be at your own expenses.

10. Should my project be related to France or any of the Sponsor companies?
Not necessarily, we are looking for enthusiastic entrepreneurs that can lead the digital transformation in three priorities for France and Egypt.
